Welcome to Homecoming Scotland 2009
Discover the deserted villages, settlements and wartime relics of Scotland's national forests, through the stories on this website and a series of events throughout 2009.
Walk in the footsteps of the people who lived and worked here and explore the traces they left behind. Why did they leave, where did they go? Stones in the woods have tales to tell.
Start your journey here. We will be adding more sites throughout 2009. Come and explore for yourself, take part in events or share your tale and help bring these places back to life.
